Since January 1, 2021, Rossiya Airlines has started operating domestic Superjet 100 aircraft. During the period from January 1 to January 10, 2021 these liners operated 110 flights. The total number of passengers transported on Superjet 100 was 5400 people, the transported cargo weight exceeded 44 tons.
The first flight on Superjet in Rossiya’s livery was performed Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport to Nizhny Novgorod. The airliner took off exactly according to the schedule on January 1 at 9: 30 Moscow time. Despite the holiday, there were 14 passengers on board. In total, on the first day of the new year, Superjet 100 of Rossiya Airlines performed three flights from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod and one flight to Belgorod.
Punctuality of flights on Superjet 100 aircraft during the New Year holidays was 90%, which corresponds to a high level of accuracy of flight operations and strict compliance with the planned schedule by the airline. The main reason for the delays is the difficult weather conditions at regional airports. Heavy fog disrupted the operation of the air harbours of Belgorod and Nizhny Novgorod. There were no flight delays related to the technical condition of the fleet of this type of aircraft.
After the New Year holidays, the number of destinations operated with Superjet 100 has increased. Thus, from January 11, Rossiya started operating flights from Moscow to Nizhnekamsk, and from January 13 - to Magnitogorsk and Chelyabinsk. In the future, as the airline's fleet increases, the number of destinations that Superjet 100 will fly to will increase.
Domestic aircraft are included in the operator certificate of Rossiya Airlines at the end of 2020. The launch of Superjet 100 takes place as part of the implementation of the updated strategy of Aeroflot Group, under which Rossiya will provide convenient connections both with Aeroflot flights and with its own flights at Sheremetyevo base airport.
According to the new strategy, Rossiya will become the leading operator of aircraft of domestic production. By the end of 2021, the airline will have 66 Superjet 100 aircraft in its fleet. At the same time, foreign aircraft still continue to operate regular and tourist flights.
