On September 4, an instructor pilot from S7 Airlines will operate an online flight from Moscow to Innsbruck, Austria, on the Airbus A320neo virtual passenger airliner
S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance, and Microsoft offer all aviation lovers an opportunity to experience flying through the eyes of a professional pilot using the long-awaited addition to the famous Microsoft Flight Simulator line of civilian flight simulators. The S7 Airlines online flight from Moscow to Innsbruck is scheduled for 6:00pm Moscow time on September 4 in the airline’s VKontakte community.
The group of travelers undoubtedly includes passionate aviation enthusiasts and those who are curious to learn the nuances of pilots' difficult and interesting trade. Participants of the online flight will enjoy not only spectacular visuals, but also an interesting discussion: there will be famous aviation bloggers and experts from the aviation community on board. During the broadcast, the host and the S7 Airlines pilot will use the example of online flight to Innsbruck to discuss various flight processes and factors taken into account by the pilot in command when making decisions.
Innsbruck is one of the most difficult airports in the S7 Airlines route network. Only pilots with special clearance operate flights there. Buried in the Tyrolean Alps, it is affected by challenging weather of the mountainous landscape, while its short runway and approach peculiarities require exceptional skill. With all the difficulties, it is also one of the most beautiful routes.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is a new addition to the line of civil flight simulators developed by Microsoft in cooperation with the Asobo studio. The Microsoft Flight Simulator’s special features include photorealistic graphics and highly detailed terrestrial landscapes. Thanks to the Microsoft Azure cloud and integration with the Bing Maps service, users can visit any point on the planet and land at any of the world’s 37,000 airports. The game technologies also offer such options as, for example, simulation of realistic aircraft control physics with consideration of weather conditions, flight speed, outside temperature, and other factors. In the near future, Microsoft Flight Simulator will feature the S7 Airlines livery.
During the broadcast, S7 Airlines will give away to viewers three certificates for a real flight simulator experience at the S7 Airlines training center, as well as three certificates with a face value of 10,000 miles of the S7 Priority loyalty program.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is already available for sale to users of PC run on Windows 10, while holders of Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can download the game for free.
