Russian airlines ask Transport Ministry to check sharp jet kerosene price rise

The Association of Air Transport Users (AEVT) has asked Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh to check whether the current jet fuel price jump is justified, according to a letter published on the website of the organization. This reported by PRIME.

"The Russian association of air transport users is addressing you on an issue of a sharp growth of jet kerosene price in the airports of the Russian Federation for the forthcoming period of August–September 2020," the letter read.

The prices rose by 62.1% in the Koltsovo airport, 33.4% in the Domodedovo airport, 36% in Zhukovsky, 18% in St. Petersburg, 20.4% in Vladivostok, 21.1% in Blagoveshchensk, 28.1% in Irkutsk, 48.4% in Krasnodar, 48.6% in Krasnoyarsk, as compared with the tenders held by the airlines for July 2020.

The growth wipes out the effect of government support to the airlines, the association said.
