For three months S7 Airlines has been the leader in passenger transportation in Russia. In June, the airline managed to reduce the drop in passenger traffic on domestic routes to 45% compared to 2019, the press service of the airline reported.
In June, S7 Airlines resumed flights in all directions of its internal Russian route network, and also opened new flights: from Moscow to Gelendzhik and Ulyanovsk, from Novosibirsk to Orenburg and Volgograd, from Irkutsk to Sochi, Simferopol and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The lifting of quarantine restrictions across the country has led to a significant increase in demand for flights. In June, S7 Airlines carried 677,141 passengers on its own flights across Russia, which corresponds to about half of the volume of June last year.
“Despite the fact that passenger traffic is gradually growing, the transportation economy remains unprofitable. In the conditions of closed borders, a significant excess of capacities has formed in the domestic transportation market, and airlines are forced to reduce the average tariff due to the intense competitive situation. Thus, carriers are deprived of the opportunity to earn money during the high season for aviation, ”notes Deputy General Director for Strategy of the S7 Group Grigory Davydov.
In June, members of the S7 Priority loyalty program had the opportunity to join groups and together accumulate miles for future trips on a family account. All bonus miles earned by group members are accumulated in one account. At the same time, status miles and segments are counted on everyone's personal account.
