RSC Energia and Space Adventures have signed contract to send two tourists to ISS in 2023

RSC Energia and Space Adventures Inc. (USA) have signed a contract to launch a short mission in 2023 with two spaceflight participants aboard a Soyuz MS spacecraft to the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS). This reported by Roscosmos.

During the mission, one of the spaceflight participants is expected to go on a spacewalk from the ISS Russian segment together with a professional Russian cosmonaut.

Through 2001 to 2009, RSC Energia and Roscosmos launched eight short commercial missions to the ISS Russian segment aboard Soyuz spacecraft under contracts with Space Adventures Inc. The space tourists were: Dennis Tito (USA, 2001), Mark Shuttleworth (UK, 2002), Gregory Olsen (USA, 2006), Anousheh Ansari (USA, 2006), Richard Garriott (USA, 2008), Charles Simonyi (USA, 2007, 2009) and Guy Laliberte (Canada, 2009).
