In accordance with the combat training plan, two Tu-142MZ strategic ASW aircraft and two Il-38 ASW aircraft of the Pacific Fleet naval aviation were involved in the exercise of the air defence duty forces in Kamchatka and Primorsky Krai.
The crews that operated in the interests of ground-based air defence areas, were to stealthily approach the Russian airspace and infiltrate it. During the exercise, the Pacific Fleet aircraft flew over the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. ASW aircraft were in the air for about 4 to 7 hours.
