Supporting global industry trends, Rossiya Airlines launched a programme of international flights with medical cargo on board.
Due to the temporary restriction of international passenger air traffic, Rossiya has reoriented part of its fleet to implement the medical cargo transportation programme.
The first chain of flights within this programme was performed on April 29 transporting medical goods from China. During May, the airline plans to perform more than 50 such flights. In addition to humanitarian transportation, flights with agricultural products, which are so necessary for the population in the conditions of a gap in the supply chains between countries, are also planned.
Boeing 777-300/300ER, which are capable of carrying an average of about 40 tons of such cargo, operate these flights. In addition to the baggage compartments of passenger liners, the interior is also used, including seats that are insulated with special materials. Thus, Rossiya Airlines will be ready to begin passenger transportation immediately after the cancelation of the relevant restrictions by refusing to dismantle the components of the cabin.
The airline pays special attention to the sanitary control of aircraft. In addition to implementing measures recommended by Rospotrebnadzor and international organizations, the company has expanded its internal requirements for the preparation of its own liners.
