Unmanned aircraft conduct monitoring flights of fire hazardous areas at Russia's Far East

In the Eastern Military District, due to the established high air temperature, unmanned aircraft are actively used to monitor the fire hazard situation near military facilities. This reported by Russian Defence Ministry press-service.

Crews of complexes of Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles conduct monitoring flights in the areas of Khabarovsk, Primorsky, and Trans-Baikal Territories and the Republic of Buryatia. All unmanned aerial vehicles are equipped with thermal surveillance devices, which makes it possible to detect even small foci of fires and take timely measures to eliminate them. Monitoring data is transmitted to the regional centres of defence management of the Eastern Military District.

UAV flights are carried out at an altitude of up to 2,000 meters in a radius of 120 kilometers and at least 10 hours a day. Since the beginning of monitoring the fire hazard, overflown more than 10,000 hectares of territories have been completed.
