The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, at the request of the Moldovan side, carried out an operation to transfer by Russian An-124 Ruslan military transport aviation from Shanghai (China) to Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) medical equipment allocated by the People’s Republic of China with the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova. This reported by Russian Defence Ministry press-service.
Earlier, Chisinau turned to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation with a request to assist in the delivery to the Republic of Moldova of medical equipment from the People's Republic of China.
The leadership of the Russian Defence Ministry promptly responded to the request of the Moldovan side. Medical equipment allocated by the People’s Republic of China was delivered by an aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces to Chisinau within the time strictly agreed with the Moldovan side.
The Aerospace Forces of Russia delivered to the Republic of Moldova, where, due to the epidemic of the coronavirus, a state of emergency was introduced, medical equipment with a total weight of about 40 tons.
This cargo delivery is the first joint Russian-Chinese humanitarian action to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.
Earlier, on March 27, 2020, Russia sent humanitarian aid to the Republic of Moldova, it included 10,000 test systems for the diagnosis of coronavirus.
