Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed the first Aeroflot Airbus A350

On March 6, 2020, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed the first commercial flight of Aeroflot, the Russian flag carrier, operated by the new Airbus A350-900. This reported by airport press-service.

During March, the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world will perform flights between the Russian cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow, after which it will switch to Aeroflot’s long-haul routes.

Aeroflot A350-900 became the first aircraft of this type in the fleet of the Russian carriers. The aircraft has a spacious three-class cabin layout with 316 seats: 28 private Business Class suites with full-flat seats, 24 Comfort Class with extra legroom and 264 Economy Class.

Aeroflot is among TOP 3 airlines in terms of passenger traffic at Pulkovo Airport. In 2019, the carrier served 1.9 million passengers in St. Petersburg. Aeroflot operates Airbus A320 and A321 as well as Boeing 737 on flights to Pulkovo.

In 2019, Pulkovo Airport was certified and fully equipped to handle the Airbus A350 aircraft. The technical staff of the airport completed special training to work with the A350. The first Airbus A350 in the history of Pulkovo Airport landed in St. Petersburg on September 18, 2019. The flight was performed by Sichuan Airlines.
