Su-24M front-line bombers crews of the SMD air regiment stationed in the Volgograd region destroyed surface targets during flight tactical exercises at an aviation training ground in the Astrakhan region.

The Su-24MR crews scouted and transmitted the coordinates of the targets of the mock enemy ships. The bomber crews used 120-kg high-explosive fragmentation bombs and successfully coped with the task.

Also, the pilots of the Southern Military District improved the ability to take off and approach the illuminated strip at night, practiced actions in case of failure of aircraft and maneuvers to evade the attack of the mock enemy fighters.

The flight and engineering personnel of the air regiment were involved in the exercise, and more than 50 units of aviation and special equipment were involved.
