S7 Airlines has summed up the results of production activity for January 2020. Over the past month, the airline carried 1,368,194 passengers, 16.8% more than in January 2019. This was reported by the press service of the carrier.
Flights to Russia were used by 994,080 passengers, 20.3% more than in January 2019. Growth in international areas amounted to 8.4%. In December 2019, the process of combining Siberia Airlines and Globus airlines, which operated under the single brand of S7 Airlines, was completed. Globus Airlines suspended commercial operations: the Globe’s air fleet was transferred to the Siberia operator’s certificate. Now the Siberia Airlines fleet consists of 101 aircraft of the world's leading manufacturers - Airbus, Boeing and Embraer, noted in S7.
“January results reflect seasonal demand for a number of directions of the S7 Airlines route network. Traditionally, in January, the popularity of cities near ski slopes, both in Russia and in Europe, increases. For active winter holidays during the New Year holidays, S7 Airlines passengers chose Salzburg, Innsbruck, Turin, Verona, Milan - our new destination, Sochi and Mineralnye Vody,”- says Igor Veretennikov, Commercial Director of S7 Group.
In January, reputable analytical agencies OAG and Cirium published punctuality ratings for European airlines in 2019. In both ratings, S7 Airlines entered the top five most punctual carriers and improved its own result compared to last year.
According to the Punctuality League 2020 (OAG), S7 Airlines is fourth in Europe and 12th in the world. In 2019, the airline performed 83.8% of flights without delay. According to Cirium analysts, the airline completed 84.1% of the scheduled flights - in their report they assigned S7 Airlines the third position in Europe.
