Pilots of the Khabarovsk Aviation Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergencies conducted targeted training flights in the most difficult weather conditions at extremely low temperatures. The events lasted for two days at the Yakutsk airport during the day and at night. For two days, the pilots made about 60 approaches using landing systems.
The purpose of the training was to train the flight crew of MI-8 helicopters to improve their qualification levels, and to restore their skills in piloting in the clouds with a landing approach using landing systems.
In difficult weather conditions, the pilots practiced exercises for taking off and landing the helicopter with a run along the strip and a flight along the route. Due to limited visibility, the pilot performs the flight not visually, but by instruments.
Emergencies and accidents occur regardless of weather and climate conditions. People in distress are always waiting for help, so the EMERCOM pilots are trained in extreme conditions.
