Russia has extended suspension of air travel with the U.K. until January 12, 2021, a spokesperson for the government’s response center for fight with the spread of coronavirus told reporters on Monday. This reported by PRIME.

“The government’s response center to prevent the importation and spread of the new coronavirus infection has decided to extend the suspension of flights with the U.K. To ensure the protection of public health, the restrictions have been extended until 11:59 p.m. on January 12, 2021,” the statement said.

Russia suspended air travel with the U.K. on December 22 for seven days due to the detection of the new strain in the country, which is believed to transmit 70% faster than the original coronavirus.
