On December 13, 2020 joint team of Roscosmos subsidiaries has completed the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket general assembly at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. In accordance with the working schedule, the space payload (OneWeb spacecraft under payload fairing) was docked to the third stage with the assembled first and second stage.
The same day, the State Commission meeting was held to review the carrier rocket readiness to be rolled out to the launchpad and preparation for the launch. The rollout is to take place on December 15.
The upcoming launch will be the first fully commercial payload to liftoff from the Vostochny Cosmodrome and the first launch operated by Arianespace for OneWeb from the launch site. Currently, OneWeb satellite constellation in low-Earth orbit consists of 74 spacecraft with hundreds more to be launched.
