The airline’s fare list is becoming even more flexible. The Economy group is now represented by three fare types: Basic, Standard, and Plus; the Business group is represented by two types: Standard and Plus.
On November 3, 2020 S7 Airlines is updating the fare list. The economy class has been affected the most—from now on passengers will be able to choose tickets at one of three fare types, which offers the service package most suitable for their travel needs.
“Offer diversification and customization are still the main focus of the service sector. We understand that passengers may prioritize different services on different occasions. For a weekend getaway, they mostly care about the price and a convenient departure time; for a family vacation the key criteria are comfort during the flight, food, and baggage options; for a business trip, passengers prioritize the ability to quickly adjust their plans. The same passenger may find themselves in each of these roles at different times. When developing the new S7 Airlines fare system, we tried to create service packages that would be important for all flights and would meet the needs of very different groups of travelers, ” said Alexey Dokuchaev, the commercial director of the S7 Group.
The Economy Basic fare includes a minimum flight service package—carry-on baggage up to 10 kg and a standard meal on board. Any of the additional services—baggage, cabin seat selection, service class upgrade, and access to the business lounge—can be paid for separately. If the passenger’s plans have changed, their ticket may be exchanged for 3,000 rubles.
Economy Standard provides the optimal comfort level for most passengers. In addition to carry-on, baggage up to 23 kg may be checked in and a cabin seat may be selected for free when checking in for the flight. The ability to carry ski equipment free of charge will be important for winter travel. This fare offers more flexibility: a ticket may be exchanged for 1,000 rubles or returned for 2,000 rubles. A refund certificate will be issued at no extra cost. The certificate provides the greatest number of options. Within one year, the passenger can use the money from their personal deposit to buy a ticket for themselves or another traveler to any destination on the dates of their choice.
S7 Airlines has developed the Economy Plus fare for fastidious passengers who would like to have flexibility when planning their flights and, at the same time, get a guaranteed high level of comfort. This is especially important for frequent business travel, when the passenger spends a lot of time on the plane. An economy class passenger essentially receives the service package that is in many respects similar to that available in the Business group. This means that at the airport the passenger can check in at business class counters, wait for departure in the business lounge, and have access to priority boarding. During the flight, the fare offers free selection of a cabin seat, including extra space options, and special meals. In addition, the fare terms make it possible to exchange and return the tickets free of charge as well as get access to transportation on an earlier flight when checking in. Passengers who prefer to travel only in business class will not notice any changes in the service packages—the fares have just been rebranded to Business Standard and Business Plus.
