Russian military transport aircraft continue to transfer units to participate in the peacekeeping mission in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone

Another 18 Il-76 aircraft and two An-124 "Ruslan" aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Aerospace Forces of Russia with equipment and personnel of the 15th peacekeeping brigade sent to Armenia to participate in the peacekeeping operation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, landing at the airfields of Yerevan city. Russian servicemen unloaded materiel, weapons and military equipment.

During the day, 33 pieces of equipment were delivered to Armenia by Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft – armored vehicles "Tigr", "Lynx", cross-country trucks, repair and evacuation vehicles, equipment and material support equipment.

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation continues to transfer Russian peacekeepers to the area of tasks in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. A total of 226 flights have been performed since November 10, 2020.

To control the ceasefire and military operations, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone in the amount of 1,960 servicemen, 90 armored personnel carriers, 380 units of automobile and special equipment.

In the areas of the peacekeeping mission, 24-hour monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire regime is carried out by peacekeeping units at 23 observation posts: twelve in the southern zone of responsibility and eleven in the northern one.

By order of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, within the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin "On additional measures to maintain peace in Nagorno-Karabakh", the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation began to form an Joint Centre for Humanitarian Response in Stepanakert.
