Against the background of global changes in the world caused by the spread of COVID-19, Ural Airlines showed a convincing result at the end of September 2020. The airline performed 6 114 flights (97% of 2019) and carried 888 546 passengers (89.5% of 2019).

In the context of the ban on international traffic, the airline continues to actively replace flights to foreign destinations with flights within Russia. The increase in the number of passengers on domestic traffic in September amounted to + 40% compared to September 2019.

At the end of nine months of 2020, the airline carried 4,489,201 passengers (61% of 2019), completing 34,028 flights (70% of 2019).

During the pandemic, which led to the closure of borders, the introduction of a self-isolation regime and a sharp decrease in passenger traffic, Ural Airlines were able to adapt to the new conditions by adopting an anti-crisis program and using all available resources.

The airline converted some of the aircraft into cargo options for the delivery of humanitarian cargo from China to Russia and to Europe. During the period from April 13 to September 30, 4,835 tons of cargo were transported and 494 flights were performed.

During the same time, Ural Airlines helped 36,850 citizens return home on 240 repatriation flights. Russians were taken out from Thailand, India, UAE, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, and foreign passengers were taken home to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and European countries.
