Specialists of the search and rescue and parachute landing service of the Central Military District, who are involved in the implementation of state space programs for launching and landing spacecraft, conducted the final exercises on parajumping from a helicopter in difficult weather conditions at the airport in the Sverdlovsk region. This reported by Russian Ministry of Defence press-service.

As part of the exercise, air rescue personnel from 12 military units of the district practiced landing from Mi-8MTV5-1 helicopters from a height of 1000 to 3000 meters in difficult weather conditions: the air temperature reached -20 degrees with a wind force of about 10 m / s. also, the soldiers worked out actions to assist the crew of an emergency landing spacecraft.

Jumps were performed using controlled parachute systems "Arbalet-1", which have high maneuverability and load capacity. This allowed rescuers to use special cargo containers that contain sets of warm clothes and equipment for first aid to astronauts or disaster victims.

Four helicopters were involved in the exercise, and servicemen made more than 60 parachute jumps. In the near future, specialists of the search and rescue and parachute service of the Central Military District will be relocated to Kazakhstan to meet the "Soyuz MS-13" crew.

The "Soyuz MS-13" capsule will land at noon on February 6. An international crew consisting of Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov, ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano and NASA astronaut Christina Koch will return to Earth.
