More than 100 army aviation helicopters relocate to Orenburg region within Tsentr 2019 maneuvers

More than 100 transport-combat and attack helicopters of the Army Aviation of the Aerospace Forces and the Central Military District were relocated to airfields in the Orenburg region within Tsentr 2019 maneuvers.

The maneuvers involve Mi-8 helicopters of various modifications, Mi-26, Mi-24, Mi-35, Mi-28n, and Ka-52.

On the eve, the technical staff completed preparation of aircraft for a long flight, including the suspension of additional fuel tanks.

Relocation was carried out over long distances up to 2,000 kilometers with intermediate landings.

In the course of the maneuvers, army aviation crews will have to carry out tasks of transporting units and cargo, air support, and the use of aviation weapons on ground targets.

Tsentr 2019 maneuvers is held from September 16 to 21 at the training grounds of Adanak, Totsky, Donguz, Chebarkul, Aleyskiy, Yurga, Ashuluk, Safakulevo, in the territory of the Russian Federation and in the Caspian sea. Episodes of the fight against illegal armed groups will be also conducted at the training grounds of partner states according to separate plans.

Military command and control units and troops of the Central Military District, the Caspian Flotilla of the Southern Military District, part of the forces of the Eastern Military District, the Airborne Troops, long-range and military transport aviation of the Aerospace Forces are involved in the maneuvers, as well as military contingents of

People's Republic of China, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of India, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.

In total, Tsentr 2019 maneuvers involve about 128,000 servicemen, more than 20,000 pieces of weapons and military harware, about 600 aircraft and up to 15 ships and support vessels including 12,950 servicemen (military personnel of the Russian Federation up to 10,700, foreign states up to 2,250 people), up to 250 tanks, about 450 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers,  200 artillery systems and MLRS will be involved in practical actions of troops at Donguz, Totsky, Adanak training grounds in the European part of the Russian Federation.
