On August 27, 2019, Roscosmos signed several agreements at MAKS-2019 Air Show. The documents were signed by Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin.
The first agreement with Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev is aimed at cooperation between the sides to ensure social-economic and innovative development of the region, improving the living standards of the population and developing the high-tech production in the region, including the Voronezh Region-based Roscosmos companies scientific, technical and human resources potential development.
According to the document, Roscosmos will also take part in the federal and regional programs to develop industrial base and new workplaces creation. The agreement is meant to be longterm.
Dmitry Rogozin and Alexander Gusev also discussed the creation of an integrated scientific and production site in Voronezh by joining the Voronezh Chemical Automatics Design Bureau and the Voronezh Mechanical Plant (part of Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center) – this process is at its final stage with all the employees transferred to the new company in November. After the reorganization the new company will be renamed as Voronezh Rocket Engine Building Center with Sergey Kovalev as its head. This will allow to do away with the current duplication of production facilities between the two companies and enhance their profitability. The plans include production facilities modernization, diversification, cutting the expenses, enhancing productivity and increasing the average wages.
The second agreement was signed with the Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov with Roscosmos and its subsidiaries taking active part in the development of the scientific and educational center in the region. The document also includes using the specific services as part of the Digital Earth project allowing monitoring and observation of the agricultural and forest sectors, construction activities, emergencies, ecological situation, natural resources utilization effectiveness and economic activity control, as well as economic damage evaluation.
The third agreement was signed between Roscosmos subsidiaries United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC) and Scientific Production Association Of Automation And Instrument-Building, with the Tekhnosvet company. The parties signed a memorandum to cooperate in manufacturing medical equipment to cure malignant tumours using the thermoablation method.
The main aim of the cooperation is to introduce to the market the only Russian-built equipment produced by Tekhnosvet, creating a conceptually new perspective equipment upon the request of the medics and with them taking part in the creation process in order to cure malignant tumours using the thermoablation method.
Dmitry Rogozin also met with the Perm Krai Governor Maxim Reshetnikov to discuss the agreement signed in 2015 and aimed at cooperation between the parties to develop an innovation cluster of rocket engine building. The sides also discussed the financial state of the Roscosmos companies based in the region, their development perspectives and civil orders placement.
