On June, 27 Glavkosmos (part of Roscosmos State Corporation) and Indian Space Research Organization Human Space Flight Center signed a contract to support selection, medical examination and space training of Indian astronauts.
The contract was signed by Glavkosmos first deputy director general Natalya Lokteva and the Head of the Center Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair.
Glavkosmos will provide consultation services on selecting candidates for Indian space flight program, medical examination to receive clearance for space flight special training program, as well as training the Indian astronauts selected according to the medical examination results for the space flight.
The work will be supported by the Yuri Gagarin Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center, as well as by the Russia's State Scientific Center – the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of Russia's Academy of Sciences.
