Progress MS-12 flight control preparations complete, Soyuz-2.1a is installed at the launch pad

On July 26, 2019, the Central Engineering Research Institute (TsNIIMash) Mission Control Center has finished the scheduled preparatory works for Progress MS-12 cargo spacecraft flight control. The launch of Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the spacecraft is scheduled for July 31, 2019 at 12:10:46 UTC from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The specialists of the Main Operative Group of the Russian segment of the ISS at the Korolyov-based Mission Control Center will take over the flight control of the spacecraft after its separation from the third stage of the carrier rocket. The estimated spacecraft separation time and injection into the planned orbit is at 12:19:35 UTC.

The approach of Progress to the ISS and docking to Pirs Docking Compartment is planned to be performed automatically under control of the Main Operative Group of the Russian segment of the ISS at the Mission Control Center and Russian ISS crewmembers.

The Progress MS-12 is to deliver about two tons of various cargo to the ISS including propellant, air and equipment needed to support the operation of the space station in manned mode, as well as personal packages and life support means for the crew.

On July 28, 2019, the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket was transported from the assembly and testing facility and mounted at the launch pad No. 31 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Roscosmos specialists carry out preflight technological operations, perform autonomous tests of the spacecraft systems and mechanisms, the carrier rocket and the launch complex.
