Aeroflot has just marked 55th anniversary of flights to Cyprus. The first flight was operated to the airport of Nicosia on the Ilyushin Il-18 airliner. In 1976 Aeroflot launched services to the island’s third largest city Larnaca. Cyprus is one of the most popular destinations in the Aeroflot route network. In Summer, the Russian carrier operates three daily flights to Larnaca from Sheremetyevo. In 2018, Aeroflot carried 228 thousand passengers on the route.
