Naval aviation to conduct four training sessions over St. Petersburg before Main Navy Parade

In the airspace of St. Petersburg, in preparation for of naval aviation the Main Naval Parade, four training sessions will be conducted.

Combat airplanes and helicopters crews will fly from four operational airfields of the Western Military District on the territory of St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Vologda regions and the Republic of Karelia. In total, two separate training sessions are planned for couples and aviation groups on July 16 and 19, one joint training session as part of ships on July 21, aviation groups and a final rehearsal of the Main Naval Parade on July 25.

More than 40 aircraft from formations and military units of the Aerospace Forces, Navy, Baltic, Northern, Black Sea, and Pacific fleets will take part in the large-scale celebration.

The main aviation group will include Su-24, Su-25, Su-30sm, Su-33, MiG-29K aircraft, A-50 ong-range radar detection and control aircraft, Il-78 aircraft, Be-200, Tu-142 aircraft , IL-38, as well as Mi-8, Ka-27M, Ka-28, Ka-29 helicopters.

Currently, the crews have begun training flights as part of tactical groups in the airspace of airfields, and several rehearsals have been planned over St. Petersburg.
