A Sukhoi Superjet 100 was forced to make an emergency landing on Sunday at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport due to a fire on board, which ultimately destroyed the aircraft on the ground, killing at least 41.
According to a Sputnik source with the emergency services, both of the SSJ-100's black boxes have been discovered at the site of a crash in Sheremetyevo Airport.
"Both black boxes — a flight data recorder and a voice recorder — were found and dismantled", the source stated, adding that investigators were studying the find at the moment.
The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed on Sunday that 41 of 78 people on board, including two children, died in a fire that broke out on board flight SU1492 from Moscow to Murmansk following its crash in Moscow at 2:50 pm GMT.
