In mid-April the delegation of Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Prof. Zhukovsky (part of Zhukovsky Institute National Research Centre) visited the Italian Aerospace Research Centre (CIRA). The event took place in Capua, Italy.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen strategic long-term cooperation in the field of aerospace research and development. The TsAGI delegation took part in a meeting with the CIRA Director General. During the negotiations, the partners highlighted the results of their research activities and discussed the prospects for further cooperation. At the meeting, the parties signed the Agreement of Cooperation between TsAGI and CIRA on promising areas of research, including airworthiness research (crashworthiness), hybrid aircraft designs, flow control technologies, standardization, aeroacoustics, and the creation of electrical / hybrid aircraft.

In addition, the representatives of TsAGI visited the research laboratories and facilities of the Italian Aerospace Research Center.

TsAGI and CIRA have long-standing and close scientific links in the field of aeronautics. Hence, the research organizations took part in more than 14 joint projects of the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation.
