Russian military to make an observation flight over Poland on April 23-27

According to Sergei Ryzhkov, the head of the National Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, Defence Ministry representatives will perform an observation flight on April 23-27 as part of the Treaty on Open Skies by Russian AN-30B aircraft over the Poland territory from the Warsaw airfield with a max range up to 1,400 km.

The Russian aircraft will fly on the route agreed with the Observed Party while Poland specialists being on the aircraft’s board will control compliance with the provisions of the Open Skies Treaty.

Observation flights as part of the Treaty on Open Skies are conducted for a contribution of the confidence and security-building measures along with the greater military transparency among states.
