The army aviation pilots of the Southern Military District practised airborne assault landing and covered the paratroopers from the air as part of final check for winter training season.

In addition, helicopter pilots trained to detect ground targets and launch a rocket-bomb strike at targets imitating convoys, objects and fortifications of a mock enemy.

In total 15 army aviation crews were involved in the drills.
