Pacific Fleet pilots make maiden flight by upgraded MiG-31BM fighter jets

In Kamchatka Pacific Fleet pilots made a maiden flight by upgraded MiG-31BM interceptors during preparation for the air defence alert.

During training flights, the MiG-31BM crews performed missions in pairs and tested specifications of the planes.

In February this year the Pacific Fleet mixed air regiment got new MiG-31BM fighter jets. MiG-31 avionics, radioelectronic systems as well as performance characteristics and combat potential were upgraded during depot repair and modernization.

According to the plan, by the end of the year the Russian air force in the north-east of Russia will have been reinforced by other upgraded MiG-31 fighter jets.
