The SSJ-75 aircraft, which is a modification of the SSJ-100 aircraft with a bigger share of Russian components, will be designed by 2024, Oleg Bocharov, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister, told reporters. This reported by TASS.
Earlier on Thursday, the Kommersant newspaper reported that the United Aircraft Corporation was to shift the deadline of the project.
"What dates are being moved up? Who told you? Nobody postponed the dates. We have an instruction from the president about 2024," he said adding that 2024 is still the actual term.
According to Bocharov, the SSJ-75 project is an import substitution project of an airliner, not a project of a shortened liner with 75 seats. The basic version of the Sukhoj Super Jet aircraft has 98 seats.
Bocharov explained that the figure 75 does not mean the number of seats but just a conventional name for the plane. He also said that the design of the new airliner is an import substitution project.
"It is an import substitution project from the start," he said.
"It will be equipped with SaM-146 engine, which is localized, or with a new PD-8 engine. The SSJ-75 project is an import-substituted aircraft, but it is not 75 seats," Bocharov said.
According to him, simultaneously with the import substitution of components in the SSJ, other aircraft issues will also be resolved, which concern system reliability and airworthiness.
