The Mi-8 and Mi-24 combat transport helicopters of the Central Military District have made over 300 sorties in mountainous and highland areas of Altai as part of combat training.

Pilots practised landing on limited sites from altitudes from 1,000m to 3,000m above sea level, search and rescue operations and combat sorties.

Some ten Mi-8MTV, Mi-8AMTSh and four Mi-24 helciopters as well as 70 flight and engineering personnel were involved in the training.
