Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov familiarized himself with the production of MC-21-300 aircraft at the Irkut plant

Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov visited to the Irkutsk aviation plant - a branch of Irkut Corporation (a UAC member).

During the visit to the plant Yuri Borisov was reported on the third MC-21-300 aircraft preparation to flight tests. Deputy Prime Minister boarded the plane, which is under the interior installation ongoing.

In the final assembly shop the delegation was presented the fourth MC-21-300 prototype. Currently, systems are mounted on the aircraft, which will join flight tests in 2019.

Yuri Borisov got acquainted with the MC-21-300 serial production technologies and prospects of the production base capacities.

"We are not going to change our plans: the task is to complete the certification in 2020, and from 2021 to enter mass production. I think all this is feasible, - said Yury Borisov. - My dream is move towards a serial production above 100 planes. And there are opportunities for that."

Referring to the question of the MC-21-300 engines, he said: "We do not abandon the partnership with Pratt & Whitney, we will not take any measures to worsen this partnership." At the same time, Yuri Borisov noted that "under unfavorable conditions, we will be ready to switch only to domestic engines." During the visit, it was announced that the first aircraft MC-21-300, produced by serial technologies, will be equipped with a PD-14 engine. Modified for the installation of PD-14 engines aircraft will be involved in flight tests.
