Prelaunch processing of Egyptsat-A satellite began at Baikonur Cosmodrome

The prelaunch processing of the integrated launch vehicle with Egyptsat-A satellite began at Baikonur Cosmodrome. The Soyuz-2 launch vehicle with Fregat upper stage was installed on the launch pad at Site 31 of Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The launch of the satellite is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 19:47 Moscow time.

The flight route of the launch vehicle will pass northwards from the Baikonur Cosmodrome over the territory of Kazakhstan - Aqtobe and Kostanay regions, and Russia - over the Urals region.

The Egyptsat-A spacecraft is intended for high space resolution survey of the Earth surface and was developed in favour of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Upon completion of the flight test program the satellite will be handed over for control to the Egyptian Party.
