Three RD-180 engines accepted by the customer

RD-180 engines

At NPO Energomash, a design review board has taken place to accept another batch of liquid-fuel RD-180 rocket engines manufactured by the company. Pratt&Whitney, United Launch Alliance and RD Amross representatives signed contracts for three commercial engines.

The abovementioned companies’ representatives, as well as US Air Force and NASA specialists inspected the engines, spare parts, tools and accessories, as well as checked the accompanying documents. This is the second acceptance in 2019 with the engines are now being prepared for shipping.

Liquid-fuel RD-180 rocket engine was designed and is manufactured by NPO Energomash. It is used in the American Atlas 5 carrier rockets.
