At training ground of Baghramyan, a joint Russian-Armenian bilateral battalion exercise began under the leadership of the commander of the combined force groupping, Major General Tigran Parvanyan.
During the joint exercise, from October 7 to 12, military personnel of the two countries, with the support of air defence, fighter, assault and army aviation of the Southern Military District, will carry out tasks in the reconnaissance and fire system, use airborne tactical groups, tank and artillery roundabouts, sniper duel, will conduct live-fire drills at night, at maximum distances and from closed firing positions.
Baghramyan’s training range is equipped with static and dynamic targets, the training involves a modern electronic modular shooting equipment complex, equipped with computers and radio transmitters that simulate the actions of manpower, armored vehicles and low-flying targets of a mock enemy, to create an environment as close as possible to a combat one.
More than 1,000 military personnel take part in joint Russian-Armenian battalion tactical exercise and about 500 pieces of military and special hardware of the Southern Military District and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are involved, including: MiG-29 fighter jets, Su-25 assault aircraft, Mi-24P and Mi-8MTV helicopters.
