Today, the Airborne Platoon preliminaries has kicked off among the Airborne Troops. The contest is included into the programme of the International Army Games 2019. This competition is one of the most dynamic and challenging. The victory of the entire unit depends on each soldier, whether he is a gunner, a grenade launcher, a gunner, a mechanic, or a commander.

The right to participate in the military, and then in the international stages of the competition, is challenged by airborne platoons and schools deployed in the Pskov, Ivanovo, Tula, Ryazan, Ulyanovsk and Volgograd Regions, Krasnodar and Primorsky Krais, and Buryatia.

The first baton of the struggle for the right to be the best of the best was assumed by the 331st Guards Kostroma Parachute Regiment representing the Airborne Troops on May 9 at the Victory Parade in Moscow.

During the competition, every air assault and airborne platoon demonstrates the ability and skills, takes the jump with a parachute and gathers on the landing pad, overcoming various obstacles during the forced march, carrying out the standards for fire, technical and physical training, by showing to the referees their ability to solve tactical and fire tasks.

The qualifying stage of the competition, held in the airborne units, is organised in accordance with the plan and is held until February 20, 2019 at the military training grounds.
