S7 Group Airlines have summed up the results of production activities for 2018. During the past year, the airlines transported 15 959 881 passengers, 12% more than they did in 2017.
Within Russia, 11 552 770 passengers flew with S7 Airlines, 10.5% more than in 2017.
The growth on international routes was 16%. In 2018, the airlines transported 4 406 811 passengers on international flights.
Passenger traffic grew by 11.2% over the course of the year and reached 33 168 569 thousand passengers per km.
“In 2018, S7 Airlines continued actively upgrading its aircraft fleet. We received several new generation airplanes: four Airbus A320 neo, we were among the first among the Russian airlines to get an A321 neo and two Boeing 737 MAX. In addition, we completed the development of the Embraer E170 regional aircraft fleet. This made it possible to expand the route network from the hub airports, including starting new flights from Moscow, Novosibirsk, and St. Petersburg. Last year more than 30 new flights were added to the S7 Airlines map, including those to some exciting travel destinations such as Reykjavik, Tenerife, Sardinia, Bari, and Nha Trang, ” said Igor Veretennikov, S7 Group Commercial Director.
Based on the results of 2018, S7 Airlines became the most punctual Russian airline, ranking number sixth in the European Airline Punctuality rating of the OAG Punctuality League 2019. Over the course of the past year, 82% of the flights were operated without delays.
Last year, S7 Airlines, together with the “Gazpromneft-Aero” operator and Alfa-Bank, became the first one in Russia to refuel the aircraft using digital smart contracts based on the blockchain technology.
At the end of last year, S7 Airlines migrated to Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS), the most modern passenger service system, which includes advanced IT solutions in the field of airline resource management, booking, ticketing, and passenger check-in. The system provides an opportunity for further improvement and optimization of internal processes, allowing passengers to appreciate the new approach to travel organization in the nearest future.
