Ural Airlines reviewed the results of anniversary year 2018

The year 2018 will leave its mark in Ural Airlines’s history. This year the company celebrated 25th anniversary and for the first time in its records conveyed more than 9 million passengers during a year.

According to the anniversary years 2018’s results Ural Airlines carried 9 000 579 passengers (+13% to 2017). For domestic airlines the number is 4 894 305, and for international airlines it is 2 283 595 passengers, for CIS it is 1 822 679 passengers. The total number of flights completed in the mentioned period is 61 634 (+11% to 2017), including 33 917 domestic, 14 766 international, and 12 951 CIS flights. The passengers throughput increased by 13% and total 21 697 971 passenger per km.

In December 2018 579 192 passengers used services of the airline company, that is 3% more than in 2017. 307 473 passengers were carried with domestic airlines, 95 729 with international, and 175 990 with CIS. In December Ural Airlines completed 4 471 flights (+3% to the previous year), including 713 international, 2 370 domestic, and 1 388 CIS flights.

In 2018 the airline company launched new directions, Vladivostok – Sapporo, Zhukovskiy – Almaty, Zhukovskiy – Prague, Moscow – Frankfurt, Saint-Petersburg – Frankfurt, Moscow – Surgut, and flights to Bologna from six Russian cities. In addition, the air carrier started flights from one more Moscow airport Sheremetyevo to Yekaterinburg, Simferopol, and Sochi.

The air fleet of the company was expended by four new air crafts (three A321 and one A320). Now the Ural Airlines’ fleet consists of 47 air crafts. It is planned that in 2019 the airline company will keep the performance increase tempo, expand the flight program significantly by purchasing new air crafts of Airbus A320 neo and Boeing 737 MAX 8.
