Russian air defence units in Tajikistan covered facilities from cruise missile attacks and drones during tactical drills.
During tactical maneuvers involving missile artillery battery at the Sambuli training ground, troops trained to cover military and industrial facilities from air threats in unfamiliar terrain under complicated ground, air and EW conditions.
Gunners operated the Zu-23 systems to engage cruise missiles, low-flying targets and drones of a simulated enemy when travelling and at halt. The maneuvers involved over 50 servicemen and some 20 pieces of hardware, including a pair of Mi-8 helicopters imitating low-flying targets.
