Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 11.1% for the first eight months of 2018

From January to August, 2018, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 12,153,915 passengers, a number 11.1% higher than in the same period of 2017.

Domestic traffic grew by 8.2% to 7,273,416 passengers. International traffic increased by 15.7% and amounted to 4,880,499 passengers.

In the first eight months of 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 110,530 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 8.5% year-on-year. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 3,956,240 tons, a figure 10.5% higher than in the same period of 2017.

In the first eight months of 2018, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 7,152,243 passengers at St. Petersburg Airport or 58.8% of the total traffic for that period.

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, KLM, and Turkish Airlines became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 8-month period of 2018. In total, they handled 845,874 passengers at Pulkovo or 7% of the total airport traffic.

In August, 2018, 2,099,021 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 11.6% higher than in the same month of 2017. Domestic traffic increased by 14.7% to 1,190,703 passengers compared to the same period of 2017. International traffic grew by 7.7% year-on-year and amounted to 908,318 passengers.

In August 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 16,368 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 5.4% to the level of August 2017. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 622,658 tons, a figure 8.8% higher than in the same period of 2017.

Among foreign airlines the leaders were Lufthansa, Belavia, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, and Air Astana. In total, they handled 139,749 passengers at Pulkovo or 6.7% of the total airport traffic for August 2018.
