More than 40 Mi-8AMTSh helicopters will be involved in landing of airborne assault of the Airborne Forces during episodes of the vostok 2018 maneuvers.

The landing of the military personnel will be conducted with the use of ropes and other special equipment.

Fourteen Mi-24 helicopters will cover tactical airborne assault.

Mi-8AMTSh is a multipurpose helicopter with a complex of guided weapons, new avionics and enhanced armor protection. The helicopter can be armed with the Sturm-V complex, unguided S-8 missiles, 23 mm cannons and 7.62 mm machine guns. The main difference between Mi-8AMTSh and its previous modifications is Ataka or Shturm anti-tank guided missiles and Igla air-to-air guided missile. It carries up to 26 paratroopers.
