Tu-95MS strategic bombers launch cruise missiles at Vostok 2018 maneuvers

Within the Vostok 2018, Tu-95MS strategic bombers launched cruise missile from the altitude of 5,000m at ground targets at the Telemba training ground, the Republic of Buryatia.

Long-range aviation pilots have successfully engaged the targets.

Tu-95MS aircraft scrambled from airfields in Far East 2,000km away from the target area. Su-35S fighter jets covered the bombers in the air.

Besides, the Tu-95MS bombers trained in-flight refuelling with the Il-78 tanker airplane.

Having completed the tasks, the long-range aircraft returned to their home stations.

The Vostok 2018 maneuvers have kicked off in the territory of the Far East and Pacific Ocean water zones on September 11-17 in accordance with the Russian Armed Forces under the leadership of the General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
