Russian airlines passenger traffic rises 7.5% YoY in August

According to operational data, in August 2018, Russian airlines carried 12.9 million passengers, an increase compared to the same period last year amounted to 7.5%. Passenger turnover increased to 31.3 billion passenger kilometers, an increase of 7.1%. It is reported by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya).

Transported cargo and mail 96.7 thousand tons, an increase of 2.5%.

The percentage of seat occupancy increased by + 0.3 percentage points to 90.2%; the percentage of commercial load + 1.4 percentage points to 75.5%.

In January-August, air carriers served 77.2 million passengers, an increase compared to the same period last year amounted to 9.9% passenger Turnover increased to 190 billion passenger kilometers, an increase of 9.8%.

Transported goods and mail 728,4 thousand tons, an increase of 1%.

The percentage of seat occupancy increased by + 0.5 percentage points to 84.2%; the percentage of commercial load + 1.3 percentage points to 71.4%.

The increase in production activity in August was noted in Aeroflot - 3.6 million passengers (+11.7%), S7 Airlines - 1.3 million passengers (+21.5%), Rossiya Airlines - 1.5 million passengers (+7.1%), Ural Airlines - 1 million passengers (+11.7%).
