Naval aircraft of the Baltic Fleet have started training within a scheduled flight exercise in the Kaliningrad region.

The drills involve over 20 crews of Su-27, Su-24, Su-30SM, attacks and military transport helicopters (Mi-24 and Mi-8), Ka-27 shipborne helicopters and An-26 military transport airplanes.

During the training sorties, personnel perform episodes to train fire support of ground troops, engagement of command posts, armored hardware, manpower, air targets, to detect and eliminate surface ships and submarines.

Flight and engineering personnel and CSS and signal specialists are also involved in the drills. The goal of the event is to improve professional skills of pilots.
