Rossiya Airlines, the Amur Tiger Center and Vnukovo International Airport, together with passengers, celebrated the International Tiger Day and once again helped to attract public attention to wildlife issues. This year the holiday was celebrated both on the ground and in the air.

On July 29, 2018 Rossiya Airlines operated a holiday flight on Tigrolet aircraft. It was dedicated to the International Tiger Day, the holiday was established in 2010 at the Tiger Summit – a forum on problems related to the preservation of tigers on Earth.

International Tiger Day unites everyone, who cares about the fate of the striped predator, everyone, who is not indifferent to the wild nature and strives to live with it in harmony, to protect it, forming a healthy environment for themselves and for future generations. The same date is considered the day of the founding of the Amur Tiger Center. On July 29, 2018 it has turned 5 years.

In order to attract the attention of passengers to preservation issues of striped predators, Rossiya together with the Amur Tiger Center and Vnukovo, held thematic contests and quizzes for several hours before the departure of the «tiger flight». Passengers, who demonstrated outstanding knowledge of rare cat species received special gifts from tiger's paws, and a passenger with a lucky boarding pass № 297 (in honor of the festive date - July 29) received a special gift from the Amur Tiger Center – a toy «Growling Amur».

The aircraft itself, Tigrolet, received an additional «tiger» decoration on this day. Head restraints and boarding passes for passengers were specifically designed with tiger decoration for this holiday.

More than that, passengers, who looked into the pocket of the front seat had the opportunity to learn a lot about the rare species of striped predators, in particular the largest and most rare subspecies - the Amur tiger. Particular attention was paid to the smallest travelers - each of them also received memorable gifts during the flight.

The goal of the Tigrolet initiative is to draw public attention to the problems of preservation of rare animal species. In September 2016, Tigrolet (Boeing 747 with the onboard number EI-XLD), was implemented as a special project within the frameworks of cooperation with the Amur Tiger Center. The nose part of the aircraft is decorated with an image of a graceful Amur tiger’s head.
