The PF marine air assault and reconnaissance subunits have made more than 500 parachute drops during the summer training in Primorye and Kamchatka.
During the scheduled airborne drills, the Marine Infantry subunits drop weekly from An-26 military transport aircraft and MI-8 helicopters of the Pacific Fleet Naval Aviation in the altitude range from 600 to 1200 metres. Jumps are performed in various weather conditions in full combat equipment.
Only today, parachute jumps were performed by more than 80 marine troops in the vicinity of the Pacific Fleet airbase of Nikolayevka. The Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School’s cadets learnt in the specialty ‘Marine units employment’ practised also landing.
