An inquiry has been launched into the fire that broke out at the Irkutsk Aircraft Plant of the Irkut Corporation on Monday, a representative of the regional branch of the Investigative Committee told Interfax.
"An inquiry into the fire on charges of negligence has begun," the representative said.
As reported earlier, the anodic coating workshop of the Irkutsk Aircraft Plant caught fire. The workshop was evacuated, and there were no casualties, according to preliminary information. The fire was designated a Class 4 fire of extra complexity.
The fire grew from 800 to 1,000 square meters before being contained, according to the Emergency Situations Ministry. It was put out at 6:30 p.m. local time.
