Pursuant to the RF combat training plan, the Kamenny Ruchey airfield hosts training sorties of long-range Tu-142MZ ASW aircraft involving complicated types of piloting.

The ASW aircraft practised the following tasks: search, classification and tracking of the simulated enemy’s submarines with the integrated use of radar and hydro-acoustic detection systems.

The Tu-142MZ crews performed sorties for the maximum flight duration, worked out the skills of holding an assigned course over the featureless terrain, coordination of actions during piloting in the absence of ground-based air navigation radio technical means.
