Mi-8AMTSh crew detected a point of fire breakout located 2 km west from Mukhor-Konduy (40 km north from Chita).

Two Mi-8AMTSh helicopters equipped with helibuckets form the Eastern MD army aviation airbase were involved in the firefighting operation. Pilots dropped about 18 tons of water during 9 flights in order to extinguish fire.

Moreover, crews of two Su-25 and a Su-24M aircraft are ready to conduct fire reconnaissance flights to remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Crews of helicopters and jets are also involved in firefighting operations in order to conduct fire reconnaissance at the territory of Promorsky Krai, Zabaikalye and Buryatia.

According to the fire dangerous situation at the district, 99 specialists of the Parachute Firefighting Service “Avialesookhrana” and 4.5 tons of the necessary equipment will be transported to Uletovsky, Krasnochiloisky, Duldurginsky and Akshinsky regions of Zabaikalye by Mi-8 helicopters.

During previous day 268 servicemen, 30 pieces of firefighting and special equipment, and two Mi-8AMTSh helicopters from the Eastern MD were involved in the firefighting and fire reconnaissance operations.
